The story begins in 2012. Two recruiters, Richard Prime and Damon Chapple, after years in the industry, spotted a problem. One that had been affecting the contract recruitment market for a long time. So they decided to solve it.
The problem? Recruitment agencies have to pay their contractors before they are paid by their clients. This creates two problems. One - reduced cash flow. Two - less time on the phone selling!
The result? Strangling agency growth from the very start.
This was the start of Sonovate. Designed specifically to ease the financial difficulties and the stress of paperwork for contract recruiters, Sonovate weaves groundbreaking technology with unrivalled finance.
Richard and Damon, our co-founders and CEOs, have led the company to become the industry's fastest growing fintech solution and the the name to beat in contract finance.
Now with secured funding and an amazing team that’s growing each month, Sonovate is moving at an exciting pace. We’ve got ambitions and those ambitions are big.
Welcome to the start of your part in the Sonovate story…
Part of what makes Sonovate so special as a business is the recruitment industry insight that it’s been built on.
That’s why we’ve made sure to assemble a C-Suite and Senior Management Team who really reflect what we’re about and who each bring genuine industry awareness to how the business works.
Let’s meet them…
Richard spent nearly 20 years both on the front line of recruitment and at board level. He’s worked in the industry around the world, taking care of some of the market’s most recognisable brands.
His first hand recruitment experience and passion for the industry led him to the idea for Sonovate. He’s guided the business to become the only solution on the market that gives the attention to contract recruitment that it truly deserves.
Just like Richard, Damon has nearly two decades’ experience in recruitment. He experienced the frustration of so many recruiters first hand and saw the opportunity to really challenge what had gone before.
Damon is no stranger to building a business, having headed up the growth of multiple, international businesses. His vision is what drives Sonovate into the market transforming solution it is today.
Rhys joined us in 2016 as Chief Technology Officer. He brings several years of Business Intelligence and Solutions Architecture experience to Sonovate, which means he is able to deliver the benefits of data to Sonovate’s growth and forward movement as industry leaders.
Richard joins us as Chief Operating Officer from Barclaycard, where he worked as Operations Director. His experience at managing business change and transformation is going to be key as our ambitions grow.

We want to fill the business with the best talent around! And who knows our culture and value better than you? If you refer someone to Sonovate who is successful and passes their three month probation period, you get a £500 bonus!
Y’know what they say about breakfast? Well, we agree! Every day you’ll find fruit, muesli, bread, pastries, avocados and eggs in the kitchen - everything you need to set you up for the day and keep you in good shape!
If you wear glasses, or need a little check up, we provide eyecare vouchers via Specsavers Corporate eyecare. So you can get a free eye test and money off any glasses prescription you may need.
You need some time to yourself, which is why you get 28 days annual leave with Sonovate, not including bank holidays, naturally! We currently close for the three days between Christmas and New Year so your holidays are adjusted to show this.
Whether you’re as fit as a fiddle, or you’re embarking on a new healthy lifestyle, we’ll pay for 50% of your gym membership directly. It’s an opt in benefit, so you just let us know, pay the other 50% as usual, hop on the treadmill and away you go!
It’s important to us that you’re at your best at all times so we offer the option to take out Private Medical Insurance with AXA. We pay for the cover (you pay the tax on the value and a £100 excess) and AXA will cover up to £1,000 worth of consultations and tests.
Sonovate paternity leave entitilement is dependant on length of service. We offer up to two weeks paid paternity leave.
Outside of your holidays, you have the option to take two full days a year to support the cause of your choice! Whether you’re scaling mountains for charity or volunteering in a shelter, we want to support you in making a difference.
If you’ve got little ones you’re entitled to sacrifice a portion of your salary in return for childcare vouchers to help you out. You also save tax and NI on this amount so it’s also a little extra cash in your pocket at the end of the day!
Ride to work in style on a brand new bike with our cycle to work scheme. We’ve partnered with Evans Cycles, so you can pick a new bike and pay for it with monthly salary deductions over 12 months.
If you’re more of a bus, tube or train person, then Sonovate can still help you out. We offer an annual season ticket loan for your mode of transport of choice. Interest free! Once you’ve completed your three month probation period you can apply for the loan, then you’re off!

Sonovate has offices in two different locations, London and Cardiff. But the most important thing to remember is that we’re one team.
Richard heads up our London office, which takes care of Sales and Business Development, Marketing and HR and Talent.
Damon is based in Cardiff where you’ll find our Product and Tech teams, Client Services, Finance and HR.
